Since my freshman year in college back in Athens, GA, the homeless have always held a special place in my heart. Since last year, I've been frequenting the campus of Tokyo U. of Art near Ueno Park, an area with one of the highest concentrations of homeless 'shanty-towns' in all of Japan. So, today I'd like to mention homelessness as one of Tokyo's looming social issues. Here is a link to a very well-written article on the issue appearing in Japan Today this week.
