Well, Sunday has me taking the Japanese Language Prof. Exam (Level 1), so if I seem to be tougher to locate than usual (i.e. cloaking mode tough), that's just because I'm craming tonight and tomorrow night. Like Santa, this test only rolls around once a year, so naturally, I'd like to go ahead and get it out of the way. Speaking of silly tests like this, I'm also interested in taking the 'official' Japanese Culture Exam, which I finally became aware of the other day. As with the 四字熟語 which riddle the Japanese Language Exam, there is a lot of...shall we say 'less than useful' knowledge that is required of the examinee (like when was the last time you needed the word 違い棚?), but I think this'll be a great way to uncover the gaps in my knowledge of historic culture. Nevertheless, that'll have to wait till next year, since I'll have my hands full moving my studio to the 下町 in the first quarter of the year.
